چکیده

• 20 four-point bending tests on timber beams. NSM BFRP and GFRP reinforced beams were studied. The flexural behaviour was improved by FRP reinforcement. A theoretical model able to predict the strength presented. Near Surface Mounted (NSM) fibre polymer (FRP) bars is an effective technique of improving performance Despite potential technique, literature remains limited, whilst there not any standard method for prediction capacity. Extending pool experimental data thus understanding strengthened structures, present paper reports study with glass basalt bars. Moreover, presents a general in order estimate moment resistance examined white spruce specimens two reinforcement configurations; one only tension zone both compression zone. Control also included comparison purposes. All had rectangular cross-section 70 × 215 mm loaded under configuration 2.3 m span. total tested displacement control quasi-static monotonic loading. main failure mechanism observed unreinforced brittle tensile at load–deflection curves, strain distribution profiles modes discussed. It that significant increase ultimate load (33–69%) stiffness (22–33%) can be achieved due proposed assessed basis test results collated data, showing good between results.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Two Fixed-End RC Beams Strengthened With CFRP Bars in NSM Method

Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) material is currently being produced in different configurations and widely used to strengthen and retrofit concrete structures and bridges. It is also possible to apply other strengthening methods without changing the appearance or the dimensions of the structure. Near Surface Mounted (NSM) is a recent strengthening method using CFRP bars (rods or laminate strips...

Structural behaviour of RC beams with external flexural and flexural–shear strengthening by FRP sheets

This paper presents experimental research on reinforced concrete (RC) beams with external flexural and flexural–shear strengthening by fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets consisting of carbon FRP (CFRP) and glass FRP (GFRP). The work carried out has examined both the flexural and flexural–shear strengthening capacities of retrofitted RC beams and has indicated how different strengthening arra...

FRP for Flexural Strengthening of Timber Bridge Beams

The majority of timber bridges in Canada requires flexural and/or shear strengthening to increase their load-carrying capacity in response to the demand to increase the allowable gross vehicle weight. This paper presents an innovative approach for the use of fibre reinforced polymers (FRP) to strengthen timber bridges. The advantages of this strengthening system are inevitable: fibre reinforced...

Structural behaviour of RC beams externally strengthened with FRP sheets under fatigue and monotonic loading

This paper presents experimental research on the fatigue and post-fatigue static behaviour of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with glass or carbon fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets placed either vertically or obliquely. All beams for fatigue tests were subjected to four-point bending for one million cycles with a frequency of 5 Hz. The results show that the FRP sheets can be used to ...

Proposed Design Procedure of Nsm Frp Reinforcement for Flexural and Shear Strengthening of Rc Beams

Near-surface mounted (NSM) fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement has been found to perform efficiently as a flexural/shear strengthening technology for reinforced concrete (RC) members, while offering some additional practical advantages with respect to the most widespread technique of externally bonded laminates. This paper presents a design procedure for flexural and shear strengthenin...
